Sculpture

This half term in UKS2, we have been learning about 3D art and sculpture in our art lessons.

We rounded off this unit of learning with a practical lesson. First, we looked at coil pots and talked about what they could be used for. Then, we used clay to create our own coil pots. Some of us even varied the shape and created heart shaped pots because Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. We used slip and various tools to join the coils together and smooth out the surface of our clay.

Although the tables were completely filthy, we had a really fun afternoon and made some beautiful clay pots, which we got to take home.
